Terminology
Apartments placestostay:. Apartments are usually self contained and are a group of units in one building. Many Australian apartments are serviced apartments where linen is supplied .
Beach Houses placestostay:. (The Weekender up the coast). They are often managed by the local real estate agency. Most Australian Holiday Houses do not supply linen.
Bed and Breakfasts. A B&B is where you rent a room in an Australian home. Accomodation includes breakfast. Bed and breakfasts can also be found on the web by searching for any of the following B&B, B & B, b&b, b & b, BNB, bnb, homestay, home stay, guesthouse and babs.
Cabins. A small simple house, often in the country, on farms or in camping grounds.
Caravan Parks Places to stay:. accomodation set aside for tents, caravans and small cabins, often located in prime (waterfront) locations.
Cottages. A cottage is a small house usually of older style.
Farm Stays. Farmstays are holidays where you rent a room on a farm
Guest Houses. Similar to Bed & Breakfast above.
Holiday Villas. A villa is a European term for a house.
Perth Hotels. A hotel is usually a building where guest can obtain rental accommodation as well as alcoholic refreshments.
Hostels & Boarding Houses . These are popular with Backpackers at the budget end of the market and normally offer dormitory or shared room facilities.
